Az előadás a családon belüli erőszak történeteit dolgozza fel; a témában olvasott levelek, valamint a zaklatásokat átélt emberekkel való beszélgetések hatására született meg. Főként a bántalmazás áldozatainak segítő központjaiban tartott művészeti jellegű órákra támaszkodik, amelyeken többnyire nők és gyerekek vettek részt. „Lehetővé akarom tenni azoknak, akik nem tudnak felsikoltani önmagukért, hogy kezdjenek el beszélni. Beszélhessenek zaklatottságukról, tehetetlenségükről, a csend utáni vágyukról. Mindezt egymást követő cselekvések sorozataként dolgoztam ki – szövegtöredékekből, önfeltárulkozásokból, nyilvános kitörésekből, képekből.”

PERFORMING POLAND

A Perform[ing] Poland projektje hét eredeti performance-t foglal magába, melyeket a Lengyelországban élő és alkotó művésznők új generációja – performerek, táncosok, színésznők, előadóművészek – talált ki és valósított meg.

Mindegyik performance olyan problémákkal foglalkozik, amelyekkel leírhatjuk a bennünket körülvevő szociális tér változásainak jelen állapotát, s amely még mindig nem kapta meg végleges formáját, ellenben úgy tűnik, mintha valami meghatározhatatlan, veszélyes irányba sodródna. Tudunk-e ismét a művészet nyelvével értékekről beszélni egy olyan korban, amikor a politika nyelve és a társalgási nyelv annyira jelentőségét vesztette, mint még soha?

Vajon a Szabadság, Méltóság és Szeretet csak a pontosan megkomponált „művészeti élmény” keretei közt találhatja meg a helyét? Vagy képes lesz újra beköltözni a szívünkbe, az otthonunkba, az utcáinkba, mint ahogy korábban tette?

A Perform[ing] Poland a Kereszteződések; Nők a performatív művészetekben elnevezésű program keretében jött létre, melynek szervezője Monika Wachowicz; a projektet a wrocławi Jerzy Grotowski Intézet indította el 2021/22-ben.

Performance by Aurora Lubos

The piece is based on real stories of domestic violence and was conceived in reaction to reading letters and talking to people who experienced harassment. It draws on artistic classes run in support centres for abuse victims, which are mostly women and children:

I want to enable those who cannot scream in their defence to start talking. So that they could speak about their entanglement, helplessness, their yearning for silence. I conceived it as a sequence of acts – fragments of texts, exits, dissolution, images.

Biogramme
Aurora Lubos – independent artist and activist associated with the contemporary dance scene in Gdańsk, Poland and Great Britain. Author of several powerful and original socially engaged solo performances and art installations. In her works she raised topics such as domestic violence, refugee crises and human rights. Her practice and creative process is based on gathering real stories and field work. Since 2000, she has been an actress at British Vincent Dance Theatre. Co-founder of the Arbuz Association, which works for people with refugee and migration experience.

Perform[ing] Poland

Perform[ing] Poland brings seven original pieces of art, ideated and created by the new generation of women –  Performers, Dancers, Actresses, Artists and  Artivists currently living and feeling in Poland.

All the works oscillate around the problems with which we can describe the reality of the Era of Social Change, which still has not received its final shape and seems to be drifting in an undefined, dangerous direction. What values are we called upon to describe anew, call it the language of the art at the time when the language of politics and the language of our streets failed like never before.

Will Freedom, Dignity and Love retain their place only in the space of the “composed experience of art”? or will they be able to inhabit our Hearts, our Homes, ours Streets, as always till now and as always anew.

Perform[ing] Poland was established as a result of the Interstices. Women in Performing Arts program, curated by Monika Wachowicz and implemented in 2021/22 by the Jerzy Grotowski Institute in Wrocław.
